If at some point you find yourself reflecting on past loves, lives, and moments that went without embracing, this one is for you …
It usually occurs in all of our lives, that moment when someone walks away, only to never return. And you’re left with thoughts, words, and gestures you wish you would’ve said and made. Why is it that hindsight often acts as the catalyst that brings past experiences into clarity?
This thought occurred to me the other day while driving—if I could count all the missed opportunities I had to tell someone I love them, what would the number be? How different would I think of myself if I received all those missed smiles, potential hugs, and heard those three words reciprocated.
And to think, all the loved ones who have passed on, only to leave this earth with me never having the chance to say to them, “I love you”, ever again.
What does it really cost to say, “I love you?”
