My name is Erica,

I’m 18 years old and I live deep south in Texas. I’m just an average girl eager to start school and earn a good education that will lead me to wealth and happiness. My daily life is a regular routine, I say bye to my fiancé, Albert, and kiss him before he goes off to work. I eat, watch TV, get showered and dressed, and wait for Albert to get home and see what the day brings me.

I met Albert when we both started working at GAP outlet, and boy I wanted that guy and little did I know it was mutual, I had my eye on my wants and now it’s become apart of my needs. We’ve been together for a little less than a year and not too long ago, I found out that I’m pregnant! (August 6, 2007).

Pregnancy is a scary feeling, at first when I found out, I was exhilarated! Now that I’ve thought into depth about these matters, I feel afraid. What I mean is—I feel as if I have to help keep this life inside me alive, when I can barely take care of myself. I’m so paranoid and I can’t control my thoughts, much rather ignore them. Hopefully, it’s all apart of pregnancy.

Well I’ve been given a gift, and my gift is yet to discover, but when I do … I’ll never let it go.
