A fun time was when Officer Andrew stopped by with his police dog. (Officer Andrew is grandma’s son and Auntie Kelsey’s brother.) Bullet the dog stayed outside but all the cats watched him from the big picture window. Officer Andrew had Bullet run and jump over my wagon. Then he pretended he was chasing a bad guy. Bullet also knows how to find people and children that are missing. Then finally Bullet showed how he could sit, stay, lay down, heel, and shake paws. It was time for Officer Andrew to go back on duty so Bullet said good-bye and jumped into the police car and off they went to help keep our city safe. I think the cats enjoyed watching Bullet but they were probably glad that he didn’t come inside the house.
I’m glad my grandma has a big house. Then each cat can find its own special place to hide and nap. Grandma says that cats sleep about twenty-three hours a day and just wake up to eat, get petted, and use the litter box. By the way, grandma has eight litter boxes in different places in her house, just so there is always a litter box handy in case a cat has to use it. The cats like to sleep in baskets with baby blankets piled in them. They don’t like to be woken up though. Cats are very independent and do things only when they want to.
I hope you have enjoyed hearing about my grandma’s cats. If you have a cat or dog, please make sure to take real good care of it. They need food, water, a warm bed, a safe home, and lots of love. Grandma says to always be kind to all animals.
