We grow grayer and hairier together
The Pet Personality Project, from Quirkology offers ongoing research about the correlation between the personality of pets and their owners. Prof Richard Wiseman, head of the project, concluded that the longer an animal had been with their owner, the more likely they were to have picked up their characteristics. After a significant period of time together, just like married couples, dogs and dog-owners begin to take on one another’s characteristics.

Paul Keevil, a photographer and artist, believes he and his pet dog Crosby, are growing more grumpy.

My lab, Mo, without a doubt, harasses my father every time we visit my parents’ house. She constantly growls at him, sits wherever he’s about sit, gets in his way constantly—all on purpose. As a family, we just laugh at their odd relationship. But after reading about the Pet Project I thought—she’s just mimicking me! She’s clearly picked up on how my father and I constantly argue about everything—politics, religion, marriage, you name it. Mo presses his buttons, just like I do. Weird.
