Hello Lover, I Got You a Little Something (Part 1)
By: Popgadget (View Profile)
From the Singleton Ring to the Mile High Club Kit, here is a list of unique and clever Valentine’s Day gifts to go around on that special day. Lovers, singletons, and couples included.
Romance By You—Valentine’s Day Gift

“
The site Romance By You lets you co-author your 160 to 199-page novel by providing the names, features and places that personalize your book. Customize over twenty-six characteristics—even include your pet. Choose from nine “action-packed” romantic titles, such as “Vampire Kisses,” “Pirates of Pleasure,” and “Medieval Passion.” With dialogue like, “Their instant chemistry ignites our heroines body and makes her weak in the knees—if only her world of high fashion didn’t clash with our hero’s high ideals,” how can you resist?
For $39.95, this is something you and your partner can laugh about for years to come. For fun.
Heart Warmer Valentines

Flowers, and especially chocolate are lovely Valentine’s Day gifts, but if you can’t be with your valentine, then sending some semblance of the tactile sense may be even more appreciated. Heart Warmers are gel-filled vinyl hearts that solidify and heat up when snapped. They stay warm for about an hour, so you can wear it near your own heart, or less sentimentally, on a bum knee. Boiling the heart after it cools brings it back to its original state so you can re-use it, but is symbolically a bit disturbing, of course.
Singelringen: Single power

The holiday of coupledom, Valentine’s Day, is around the corner, and can be oppressive for anyone who isn’t one half of a pair. What about everyone who is single, very often happily so? Why not celebrate the freedom of independence or let the world know that you are open and available (though never ever desperate, of course)? The Swedish company Singelringen, makes rings that let you proudly show your single status. As the company website says, “if anyone needs to signal one’s civil status, it’s a single”. Each blue ring has a unique number, so you can register it and become a member of the Singelringen community, ostensibly setting up the possibility of letting you meet other Singelringeners. Maybe it’s not the safest idea, but kind of a cool one—the idea of meeting up with someone because your serial numbers coordinate in some way. Dating can be such a crap shoot anyway ...
Another feature of the site: the ability to send an anonyous email to your crush of unknown relationship status. Singelringen will send the object of your affection an email asking them if they are available. Once they respond, you get an encouraging email letting you know their status and wishing you luck. It’d be even better if they asked for reasons why, like “my crazy meds aren’t working”, “In love with my mother”, “determining my sexual orientation, check back later”, etc.
Singelringen is available for $49, and is available in many countries in Europe and Asia, as well as the
Valentines Day - Mile High Club

I found this kit on the Red Envelope site, more known for romantic gifts, than anything as risque as a Mile High Club kit. And just because you might be curious, here is what it contains:
Hot cinnamon mints, a folding pocket mirror, scented cloths and a “do not disturb” door hanger to prep the mood
Massage oil (1 fluid oz.), personal lubricant (1 fluid oz.), a feather tickler, a blindfold, three condoms
A mini personal massager and a pleasure ring to indulge each other
It says it’s offered in a pink or “silver discreet hard-sided travel case” ($50.) If you put that “do not disturb” on the door, chances are discretion went out the plane window somewhere at 10,000 feet.
And if you don’t know what the Mile High Club is, then you’re not a member.
Qwerty Love Notes

If there’s a tech head on your Valentine’s list, what could be more perfect than these quirky keyboard magnets which you can use to spell out LOVE U or MISS U? Great for a filing cabinet, fridge, or any other magnet-friendly surface.
$8.95 at that equally quirky site, firebox.
Since the original publication of this article on Popgadget, The Singleton Ring has many new features, but has eliminated the crush e-mail function referred to in the above article. The updated price is now $59.
You know you've got something to share. Maybe it's something funny, touching, inspirational or informative. Whatever it is, your circle of friends here at DivineCaroline would love to hear from you.
