Never Been Kissed!

By: Mary (View Profile)

I am twenty-seven years old and decided at a young age that I would save myself for my husband. In this I  became very particular about who I would date and what he had to be like. I waited all through high school and never found the right guy so I chose not to date then. I continued on through life just waiting for God to bring me the right man, never dating. I know what I want, I have my standard, and I’m just not willing to settle for less.

Well, I have finally started dating, in April, a very nice man whom I met at church. I’m not saying “he’s the one,” but there’s potential. We’ve been dating about two months and still have yet to kiss and that’s totally okay with me. Yes, I do want that first kiss, but I want it to come from someone who loves me and can see a future for us. So for this I will wait. The same goes for sex, but that will wait for the wedding night.

I won’t say it’s not hard, because it is. I have feelings I’ve never had before, but I’m strong and in the waiting, I will be blessed!

I agree with waiting until marriage. GOOD FOR YOU!! I am 24 years old and I too am saving myself. It is really good to know your worth at a young age, I wish more young girls did today. I have been kissed though and believe me you will either feel something earth shattering or you will not. You will know right away.Still I think that it is great that you are waiting. There is nothing wrong with that, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. You sound like you know what you want. Sometimes God surprises you though, I mean how fun can it be to know exactly what you are getting. There are always surprises in life- and that is truly one of God's greatest gifts to us in this life. Whoever you are meant to be with God will bring you two together. Good luck and please keep us posted on this new relationship of yours. Really love your stories!

Not at all like my story, but I quite respect that you knew yourself so well so early and stuck to your ideals. Inspirational. I wish more young women discovered their self-worth and believed in it.

Kudos for waiting...but an earth-shattering kiss can blow your world apart -- in a good way! If you (and he) feel like taking the risk....lock lips...and hopefully, feel the magic. It'll be a good stepping stone for what folllows -- even if you wait for marriage.
It feels good to write.
