Talk to Me

By: Marvelous Mabe (View Profile)

It wouldn’t be until my mother was in an assisted living facility that I would remember to ask her about one incident. She had promised that she would lay burgundy carpet in my pink room but ended up putting green down instead. The little girl inside of me thought I had done something wrong but I learned that the green carpet had been cheaper. Why oh why hadn’t she just told me?

Going to work was fun because I was able to feel like what I was doing was important to someone. At the end of the day, something was accomplished. The team was important and I was part of the team. That is how people at work become a second family

My mother never really talked to me. I don’t think she knew how.
