The wheels were rickety, the stroller was noisy even on nice sidewalks, and the ride wasn't very smooth. Had my child not been belted in, hitting those large cracks or bumps would've ejected her! Needless to say, the Peg now sits in the garage at my parent’s house. We hesitantly use it when we visit. The kids (my now almost three year-old and two year old niece) love it. The parents and grandparents do not. We feel like the stroller needs a license plate reading: My Other Stroller is a Bugaboo.
That's right. We spent somewhere around $750 for a Bugaboo Frog when my daughter was 5 or 6 months old. At the time, the Bugaboo was a celebrity go-to. Everyone was pushing one. This is initially what drew me to the stroller, but the dozens of times I test-drove it in the stores, checked it out online, and spoke, in awe, to owners on the street is what sold me. Being an avid work-outer, I justified needing a stroller with a smooth ride, easy to push, and comfortable for the kid. Finally, my husband and I made up our minds (I of course making up his mind for him) and into the store we went...ready to swipe our card.
My heart was pounding...like I was signing my life away. I remember not getting the Bugaboo the slightest bit dirty the first week or so, because of buyer’s remorse convincing me I could always return it. No need! This stroller, which is the only stroller my second child, a 7 month old boy, will sit in for very long...because it sits him upright or tilted back, and he can feel like a part of the action. Granted other strollers do the same...but other strollers aren't nearly as good on pounding the pavement AND in the mall. It travels well too (of course, you have to buy a Bugaboo travel case...also well worth it since it doubles as a catch-all suitcase for extra diapers and other supplies). My sister and her daughter, a year old at the time, my parents, my daughter and I (7 months pregnant) traveled to Ireland last year. The stroller paid for itself when we were walking along on the cobblestone walks and it started to rain. My sister (also a proud Bugaboo owner) and I popped the rain covers on and continued our trek.
