Remember the old Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup commercials? They’d show a guy running with peanut butter and girl roller-skating with a chocolate bar, and they’d bump into each other and their peanut butter and chocolate got mixed up. Then the guy exclaims, “You got chocolate in my peanut butter!” And the girl responds with, “You got peanut butter in my chocolate!” And they eat the new concoction and find that they taste great together. Remember that?
Well, I don’t know how it happened, but somehow Vosges (a gourmet chocolate maker), came up with the idea to introduce bacon to their chocolate bars. Okay I fibbed; I read a story about how it happened … something about chocolate chip pancakes sharing a plate with bacon and syrup. I get the bacon and syrup thing, but I cannot imagine bacon in chocolate! Am I alone here? I suppose I’ll never know. Besides the fact that this combo doesn’t appeal to me at all, I don’t like meat, so I’ll never know if I’m wrong or not. Oh well. I trust that some brave soul somewhere will try it and let me know.
