Staying Healthy and Fit on a Budget

By: Mrs. Dee (View Profile)

Staying healthy and fit can be cost efficient if you learn how to take the necessary steps to achieve your weight-loss goals while at the same time saving money. As a matter of fact, you can do it right from home.

Many of us live very busy lives. You may be the stay-at-home-mommy type but your days are filled with a long list of to do things: getting the kids ready for school, running errands, buying the groceries, preparing meals, cleaning, and cooking.

Many of you have careers and don’t have time to prepare meals and you are so tired from working all day. The hassles of everyday demanding job duties and deadlines leave you with no energy left. Who has time or the energy to go to the gym?

How about if you are married or in a relationship? That requires spending quality time and energy on someone else too. Do you ever have time for yourself for the things that you want?

And many of you work, go to school, and are raising children. Trying to balance your life can be so time consuming. How do you budget your time and money and still manage to stay healthy and fit?

Organizing your day takes discipline. Living on a budget takes commitment. Taking charge of your budget while taking care of your health and life can be achieved!

The next time you go to the market to do your groceries, and before you check out with the cashier to pay for your grocery items, stop yourself for a moment and think, do I really need everything that I put into the grocery cart?

You will be surprised at how much junk food we put in our carts. Is that box of cookies really necessary? Better yet ask yourself: does my body need those extra calories? If you have kids, are you buying that box of cookies because your kids like them or because you get to eat them too? How about the ice cream on sale: buy one get other one for half the price or free. You think you are saving money, but you will save more money by not purchasing the ice cream at all and saving yourself from all of that sugar you will be consuming that your body really doesn’t need.
