Staying Healthy and Fit on a Budget

  • Drink Plenty Of Water

H2O transports oxygen and nutrients to your cells which makes our organs work more efficiently, giving you an energized feeling.

Drink at least eight ounces of water, eight times a day. If you are not used to drinking that much water, start by drinking two, then three glasses of water until your body gets used to it. Then you may continue to consume the amount of water required to drink on a daily basis and feel energized. Drinking four ounces every 15 minutes may help. When you consume the required amount of water on a daily basis, your body will thirst for it and you will automatically make it a habit to always carry a bottle of fresh, pure water with you.

Remember, if you are thirsty, it’s because you are already dehydrated, so hydrate!

  • Try Walking Outdoors Even If It’s For 20 Minutes, Minimum Three Times A Week

It not only keeps you in shape, it helps to thin the waistline, keeps your bones strong while burning calories. You will find that by walking in the mornings, (which means getting up at least 30 minutes earlier, come on you can do it!). It will give you much energy during the day. Your metabolism will be working faster, allowing you to burn more calories throughout the entire day. All it takes is the first step. Warning: Walking Is Addictive! Or try to gather with some friends or neighbors and agree to walk after dinner at least for twenty minutes, or take your kids or mate with you. By bringing someone along your walking regime, the twenty minutes will go by much quicker. Before you know it you will be walking for 45 minutes to an hour.

  • Invest In A Few Exercise DVD’s

Whether you choose, pilates, yoga, a country dance tape, Jane Fonda, belly dancing, from beginners to advanced, you will find yourself working up a sweat once you are in twenty minutes of your dance/workout session. You will feel good, energized and have saved a few hundred dollars from the expense of a membership to a gym.
