The reason why it is so important to stay away from processed foods is because of the “Whole Factor.” When I say whole factor I mean unrefined and natural, honest to goodness “Good For You” foods. (i.e .fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, etc.)
When you eat whole foods, you are eating as close to natural as you can get and your body will love you for it. The more refined and processed a food is, the less nutritional value it contains and the less fuel your body receives. When it’s whole (unprocessed) it takes your stomach more time to digest it, making your stomach fuller for a longer amount of time and leaving you, without those hunger pangs.
When I speak of the “Rice Diet,” I am speaking more in the terms of it being a change in your lifestyle. A permanent change for the better. The Rice Diet is NOT a fair-weather friend that you have for a short amount of time and then drop. It is a lifetime commitment to yourself, to being a happy and healthier you!
Any person who has the “Quick Fix” attitude will never accomplish what they want with this diet. Strength and perseverance are what see us through. It takes time to gain weight so it TOO, will take time to lose weight. Try not to think about this as a means towards weight loss (even though it may be what brought you here to begin with) but as a way of treating your body the way it truly deserves.
We only have one body in this lifetime. What more of a reason do you need to take care of it?
We are NOT animals!!! So why is it that food consumes so many of our thoughts on a day-to-day basis? We are smart and perfectly able to maintain and control ourselves the way we deem as acceptable. If we don’t feel there’s anything wrong with our thoughts and feelings towards food then how can things ever change?
Ask yourself this:
Do I want to live a long and healthy life? Is eating junk food going to give my body what it needs to fight off infection and disease in order to do so?
When you think about these things, and answer yourself, you know the truth. Everybody knows what it is they are “supposed” to do (eat healthy and exercise) and what it is they “actually” do.
You can only ignore your body for so long before it starts ignoring you in return. So whether you choose the Rice Diet or any healthy lifestyle, the important thing is ...
TO CHOOSE!
