Thirty Minute Rejuvenating Tips

By: The Femme Network (Little_personView Profile)

Remember when we could just pick up and go to the gym, meet friends for dinner, or take a nap? All of those things require planning now. Sometimes we just don’t do them because it takes too much effort, but do you remember how much better you felt after?

How much time are you taking in your day for yourself? I think thirty minutes a day is a reasonable amount of time to always take daily for ourselves. Sometimes more but never less! Having a little “me-time” is good for the soul. It will give you more focus as a mother, employee, boss, and partner. Here are some ideas for thirty minute “me-time”:

  • Grab your favorite book and read.
  • Do a crossword puzzle or another mind exercising activity (I love Sodoku).
  • Desk yoga! A few stretches at the desk or at home will rejuvenate you. Do it with your family if your at home.
  • Cat nap! All you need is twenty minutes to wake up refreshed.
  • Go for a walk. Get outdoors for lunch. The fresh air will awaken you and make you feel more alive.
  • By the way, did you eat breakfast and lunch? Don’t skip meals! It slows your metabolism and you are less focused. Take some time to sit and eat. Never stand and eat.
  • Get to the gym and get on the treadmill for twenty minutes. You can interval train by doing two minutes at your top speed and one minute at a walking pace. Keep doing that for the tweety minutes. It is a great way to exercise your heart and get your blood pumping.
  • Meditate or pray. Something that calms you and focuses your thoughts.
  • Listen to your favorite music.
  • Talk to an old friend on the phone. Catch up with someone you’ve been meaning to call. It will be fun to find out what is going on in their lives and catch them up on yours.
  • Have a conversation with your spouse that does not have to do with children or work! I bet it takes a little while to think of something.
