New Years Resolutions?

By: Nancy Eldridge (View Profile)

Do you have a New Year’s resolution? You may have one or many. Do you have a problem keeping your New Year’s resolutions? Join the crowd. Is it a question of being disciplined? The best way to start the new year is with some goals in mind, but try having “Improvement Goals”, instead of drastic measures. You may be thinking that you’d like to lose a lot of weight in 2008. The better way to think of that is that you’d like to lose some weight in 2008. In making little improvements in your life for 2008, you may find the following ideas are helpful.

1. Instead of eating the whole dinner yourself, share it. If you are eating alone, save half for another meal.

2. Instead of eating your dinner on a large dinner plate, substitute with a salad plate. Want second helpings? You still will not have overeaten if you go back for a little more food.

3. For chocolate cravings, try eating a snack-size candy bar instead of a full size bar of chocolate.

4. For exercise, start out exercising a short time working up to more over time.

It is what means sense to you and fits your lifestyle. A little improvement is better than none at all and seeing little improvements will encourage you to continue, you will be pleased with the results.
