To Chuck or Not to Chuck, Tis the Question

By: Sarah Elise Stauffer (View Profile)

Lipstick and lip gloss: one to two years

Brushes: wash every two to three months, otherwise, blemish city

Sponges: wash every week, chuck each month, or we are talking major blemishes

Applicator sponges and brushes: chuck disposable ones weekly, wash others regularly

Nail polish: one to two years

If it’s smelly, has a funky appearance, or the texture is amiss, chuck it. If it is out of style, chuck it. Don’t hang on to something just because it is a name brand. When in doubt, chuck it!

BEWARE! Please BEFORE you buy another KILLER COSMETIC, at least do some research. Lots of articles about Mascara with MERCURY, LIPSTICK with LEAD, PARABENS/PHTHALATES/and MORE in the products you use EVERY DAY that are cheap, synthetic and some combinations that are LINKED TO CANCER! SKIN DEEEP.com or www.lesstoxicguide.ca BRAND NAMES are the worst. The FDA does NOT protect you. The European Union has strict regulations that the US does not. PLEASE, read the ingredients, write them down and then look them up. If you STILL think it is worth the risk, then use these toxic mixes. The link to cancer is there, just like with tobacco. Little by little, day after day, these toxins build up. You don't feel it until it's too late, jsut like cigarette smokers. BE aware!
