I've always suffered from PMS, I curse that one week a month. Hormone therapy makes me coo-coo, I feel out of my own body, so I refuse use that option. What I do instead is take Evening Primrose Oil for the PMS, and for the cramps I start taking Aleve about 2days before I start and then all throughout the flow. It helps with cramps (keeps muscles relaxed) and lightens the flow. Not the best thing to be taking 20Aleve's in 5day period...but for this period, it's the only solution!

I have fibrous breast tissue which is often painful during periods. My OB suggested that I avoid caffeine, which has made a HUGE difference. Rose hip tea is suppose to be good for cramps, although I can't swear by it. I do swear by the old fashioned hot water bottle for back pain.

I wish I had a magic solution, don't we all. I usually draw myself a hot bath, and either soak with a good book or turn off the lights and light a bunch of candles, depending on my mood. Before that I take one or two alleve and make some Women's Moon Cycle Tea, by Yogi Tea. Who knows if the tea works but I like the thought of it. And, I sleep and I cuddle with my honey which seems to be the best cure of all.

I have endometriosis, which gives me TERRIBLE cramps. I have tried everything you can think of--seriously--and only one thing has taken the edge off of them: ThermaCare Heatwraps Menstrual Patches. I keep one on constantly during my period and it has made all the difference.
