How Do You Handle Stress?

You can read soothing, spiritual books, and gain some insight you may have forgotten. You can take nice, long, hot, aromatherapy baths and pamper yourself. You might want to take naps when you are tired, to keep your body in balance with your mind. You can confide in friends, and steal their positive energy. You’ll give it back when they need it. Or, when you’re done with it! You can spend quality time with your kids, you can clean your home so your disorder from within, doesn’t show without. You can call a family member who you know cares about you, and wants what’s best for you. You can visit a neighbor, and have a conversation that takes up some of your time. You can sit out on your front porch swing, and admire the beauty of nature. The blossoms on the trees, the flowers just starting to stick their heads up, the chipmunk that keeps filling up on birdseed. The beautiful bright red cardinals, and that one bird that has yellow feathers, and a black stripe down it’s back. You can take some time to pray to your Higher Power, angels, spirits, whomever you can think of, to help you through your situation. You can attend to things you’ve been putting off, and feel that rush of contentment, knowing you took care of something that has been on your mind for so long.

But you can’t give up. You and your children’s future is at stake. You don’t have anyone to lean on right now. The ball’s in your court. Can you make the basket? Nerve-wracking isn’t it? Standing on the line, wondering if your talent can make the right move? If you make it, you’ll move on to the pros, and not have to worry about money. If you miss, you’re kicked off your present team, and no money comes in.

And as for you, no one forced you into anything, and yet, everything is falling apart. Poor choices. But you wanted your kids, and believe they must be born to the parents they choose, so no regrets there. The problem lies in the sixteen years since! Forge on, it’s a lot better than the alternative of giving up. You can do this. You have honesty on your side. You have integrity on your side, and you believe you have right on your side. And because you have nothing but the purest intent, you have the truth on your side. Nothing left but to live, in the very best way you know how. Today is a gift, that’s why they call it the present.

Wonderful words of encouragement that can apply to any number of situations. When it's hard to go on, the best thing to do is to take a moment to look at the bigger picture. I tell friends, go outside, look around you. The fact that you are healthy, that you CAN get up and walk out and see the beauty that surrounds us is a gift. We all lose perspective once in awhile. After all, when God closes a door, he opens a window.
Tell us a Story.

You know you've got something to share. Maybe it's something funny, touching, inspirational or informative. Whatever it is, your circle of friends here at DivineCaroline would love to hear from you.
