Living from the Inside-Out

By: MyPrivateCoach (View Profile)

Making decisions and setting goals becomes very easy once you ask yourself if what you are thinking about is in alignment with what is most important to you. If it is important, great, then you can go ahead with it. If it isn’t, that is great too, because you will not have wasted your time and energy.

What is most important to you comes from the core of your being. These core values are most important to you because they express who you really are. When acting out your core values you feel most alive, energized and at one with the universe. Many people report that when they are doing an activity they are very passionate about, time literally appears to stand still.

Remember that the needs you are getting fulfilled can destructively give you a false sense of energy through the adrenaline they produce. It is important to not confuse these false energies with the deep sense of fulfillment and energy you experience when you are living from the inside-out.

Exercise: List as many experiences as you can remember when you have felt most alive, energized, at one with the universe—when time seemed to stand still.

Exercise: Ask yourself what exactly it is about those particular experiences that allowed you to feel that way.

You may be having difficulty thinking of times when you have experienced the deep level of fulfillment that living from the inside-out can bring. This difficulty may be due

to a sense of having spent so much of your life chasing after needs, putting everyone and everything ahead of you and making your decisions based on feelings of obligation and duty. Long periods of excessive stress, tolerating difficulties, handling money problems and varying addictions can also hinder your ability to tap into what is most important to you.

If this is true for you, not to worry, because as you begin to strengthen the other parts of your personal core (boundaries, standards and needs) your innermost desires and dreams will begin to surface and be revealed. In addition, there are other steps that you can take to uncover what you are truly passionate about.
