I’m Just Glad to Have a Job

By: Jhasmal Hardyway (View Profile)

There are so many people that appear to be walking through life with no purpose. People struggling through life with no sense of direction to where they are headed. Constantly saying inside, “I’m just glad to have a job.” Every time I hear that phrase I want to scream, and I hear it a lot. This type of attitude does not help in structuring your life into something that is meaningful. As long as you are “just glad to have a job,” you will never move to being glad you have a purpose. Do not settle for just being a member of society. Strive to be someone who has something to donate to a cause.

What are you looking for? I know that you are looking for something specific in life because you are reading this article. If you are looking for something specific why should you settle for just anything? We settle because we get easily discouraged and aren’t willing to be diligent at the things we want. The only person keeping you from getting what you want from life is you. I can tell you the secret to happiness right now but it’s up to you to do something with it.

Stop doing what you did yesterday.

Stop saying, “I’m just glad to have a job.”

Stop having pity parties with your friends.

Start being diligent.

Start being a fighter.

Start putting your dreams into motion.

Start seeing yourself as a success.

Start understanding that your job does not define you.

Start doing things that will get you one step closer to what you want and stop doing the things that aren’t helping. It’s like when you’re driving your car. If you’re headed in the wrong direction STOP, turn around and START going in the right direction.

Now, let’s go back and review the phrase “I’m just glad I have a job.” This is a sign of someone who has stopped fighting. If they would start fighting at least they would receive a job that they like.

Thank you. Too many people settle, yet, complain what they don't have. Or simply dont have any ambition. I hope that those people come across your article and realize that there is so much more to life than being "glad to have a job." Keep writing.

Thanks for your story, I totally agree. Americans tend to forget that with all this choice, albeit too much, we can create our destiny. Also, great reminder that our jobs don't totally define us, everything we do does.
Tell us a Story.

You know you've got something to share. Maybe it's something funny, touching, inspirational or informative. Whatever it is, your circle of friends here at DivineCaroline would love to hear from you.
