Seasonal Affective Disorder – SAD

By: NormaJo Thompson (View Profile)

This is the worse time of the year for us who suffer from SAD. This year I am determined to beat it!

  • I enjoyed the article by eMoms on SAD, and even if it did not tell me anything I did not already know, the article REMINDED me to do all those things.
  • I keep most of my lights on all of the year, especially my hall light.
  • Stress will put an added burden on to the grey skies.
  • Attend no dysfunctional family gatherings, my days of smiling when I don’t mean it are over!
  • I keep in close contact with FRIENDS. Friends want you to be happy and close friends understand you ... Because someone is related to you it doesn’t mean you get along. Friends we pick, family we just inherit!
  • Watch comedies on TV. Find what makes you laugh, and have as many belly laughs as possible.
  • Remember alcohol, is a depressant, it gives you a lift then lets you go WAY DOWN.

This year I plan to take a trip in January, and I think of good things I hope to do on the trip, and good plans for 2008 … Christmas is one day and with both my children in the service, I hardly see them on Christmas Day, but I do hear from them, and they are always in my heart.

MAY THIS WINTER SEASON FIND YOU HAPPIER THAN YOUR LAST! … FOR ALL US SADs
