Coaching Mission

This is a paper that I had written for a coaching class that I participated in on faith. I wanted to share it because it gives a different approach on coaching.

For quite some time I have been interested in helping people to reach what they consider to be success. Many people struggle with finding themselves and reaching their desires. Not knowing how to get from one point to the next is what causes many individuals to become frustrated and give up. My personal journey has helped me to relate to these evading answers. By using the hard questions listed above this will help to describe the view that has been assigned to my personal life.

Entering the computer field was a way for me to help people. Being able to see the joy in people’s faces by resolving their computer problems was the motivation for me to get a degree in computers. Seeing people smile provided a feeling in my heart like a kid going to Disney World for the first time. For many years this has been my life and nothing else seemed to matter. During the last two years there has been a significant change within my soul. The career that I currently hold seems to be simply just a job. The drive to be the best at resolving computer issues is no longer a goal of mine. The constant thought of there being more to life and making a difference looms in my head. This thought is with me every day when I wake up and is with me when I go to sleep.

People seem to be drawn to me with questions for their personal lives. The questions range in topics such as starting a small business to suggestions for issues in their new marriage. I am not an expert in these areas but there always seems be a way for me to connect with these individuals. Not always being able to answer their questions I always tend to pose a question to get them to view a different perspective. I can see that once the conversation is done there is a sense of hope. The questions that I ask seem to open their minds to avenues that they didn’t realize were there before. This can be seen through some of my friends, they always call me the next day after one of our conversations.
