The Secret Not Working? Don’t Blame Yourself!

Pondering the symbols of my dream, I was aware that they demonstrated how we each have a choice to play the game of “duck and cover” or develop the skills required to author our reality. Everyone is aware of the heartache of impact and/or head injuries. They can be extremely debilitating and even cause death. Yet, the people in my dream continued to risk everything for the sake of this game of “mysterious consequences.”

It is extremely difficult to assess what’s coming your way when your head hangs low and is covered by your forearm. After a while, not only do you believe you haven’t any control over the various random objects flying through the air, you may very well (while keeping yourself in the “dark”) begin to imagine other, even greater threats.

However, Kuan Yin explains that is most definitely not the purpose of imagination. With these amazing minds of ours, we are meant to imagine the most expansive possibilities. Anything less is a misunderstanding or outright misuse of such a superb spiritual tool. I term imagination a “spiritual tool,” as it is what ultimately opens the door to expansive or limiting realities.

What one often witnesses, however, is a society engaged in constantly “ducking” what it fears will eventually happen. Preventing the individual from true rest and objectivity, such continual over-vigilance by the ego can be exhausting for mind, body and soul. Under such constantly imagined threats, there is the potential that the fear-dominated ego will react irrationally, causing one to misconstrue what may even be a supreme opportunity as a threat.

However there are other, perhaps more important consequences to such behavior. What the ego is actually doing, when living in constant trepidation, is projecting tremendous fear out into the universe. In my dream, the hardballs represented projected fears magnetized back to those recklessly “throwing out” that exact magnitude of fear into the universe. No small threat, the returning “energy” (represented by the hardballs) was potentially lethal. And even though my dream story had a party atmosphere, the message was deadly serious. And as this message delineated processes integral to quantum manifestation and the law of attraction, please do not underestimate the implications of the above dream symbols. For according to Kuan Yin, all conflagration and chaos originates from an inability or misuse of ones inherent power to imagine our most desirable reality. Therefore, Kuan Yin urges all of us to examine our beliefs—whether we are creating our reality from love or fear:
