How many of us are aware of the fact that all those times when we are running after worldly matters, we are actually traveling over a never-ending vicious circle?
Rather, how many of us feels it this way first?
What is it that we are trying to achieve here? Whatever it might be, are those achievements going to stay forever? All this passion about one’s job one’s paraphernalia, is it worth it?
All this craving for fame and fortune—is it worth it?
Do we even question, what is the source of all such desires?
To long/desire for something means to feel unsatisfactory. So do we even wonder if achieving something or other is giving a permanent sense of satisfaction or it is just temporary? If we claim it to be permanent then why do we have further desires?
Or, do we even wonder, all these desires, are they really getting fulfilled, or it’s just a mirage. Or a disguise that simply alters its form while giving the sense of fulfillment?
In short, do we even wonder about the “very nature” of all such desires?
Do we even question why aren’t we self-contended and why are we running after worldly objects/relationship?
Do we even wonder about the “true nature” of all these worldly objects/relationship?
Do we even question the “I/me/myself” in “I am somebody”, “I have achieved something”, “and I have accomplished/done something” etc.?
Do we even try to find out, from where are we gaining this very sense of “I/me/myself” within us?
Why are we so easily assuming the sense of doer-ship in whatever we do in day to day life?
Phew …
So without knowing the “true nature” of our desires/worldly-objects (relationships), without knowing the real source of all our desires, without knowing the “true self”, aren’t we traveling a vicious never ending circle, when we are craving ignorantly yet passionately for all our worldly desires?
