Essence

My life’s essence, she’s within my being
ever knowing, ever seeing
what is right or wrong for me
and what and when my next step shall be
forever seeing, ever knowing
where my wayward soul is going
now and then she takes the lead
and sets forth with all due sped
upon what course that I should sail
and helps me stand if I should fail
never hesitate to call
if you should ever misstep and fall
