How do you see Gods image reflected in others? This was the question of the day today. How do I see God?
I see God as a man of great worth, my creator but yet still my friend. Someone who I can go to any time of the day or night. I see this person as someone I want to make proud of me, the way I live my life, and what I accomplish daily. Reflected in others, I see the woman who smiles as I pass by, the man who holds the door when my arms are full of groceries and a two-year-old. My husband as he holds me and tells me I am beautiful. My father as he gives me that knowing look and then tells me he loves me. I see God in everyone and most everything; I have learned that in life things can get pretty ugly, bad, and even destructive, but it is true what they say: “This too shall pass.”
Take right now for example. I am on medication because I am a diagnosed manic depressive. On medication, I am good; off, not so much. Why ever not take my medication, you might ask ... Good question. Same reason people don’t listen to God. They think they can do all things on their own, that their strength is greater than his, but I gotta tell you that it is not. You can do all things through him and with him, but nothing on your own.
