Is Hatred Consuming The American People?

By: Bradley Fowler (View Profile)

Recently, while driving down the muggy and congested road, in the city of Superior Twp. MI, I became repulsed by a negative slur someone blurted out their car window. Immediately, I desperately fought not to allow such ignorance to affect me, quickly blocking the insult from my mind. But later that day, while going over the events that occurred earlier, I couldn’t help but ponder the veil attitude I had encountered. Realizing I cannot fight evil with evil, I reached for my Bible and feverishly turned through its pages, searching for this one particular scripture I have come to appreciate – I John 4:7 [Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God].

I enjoy this scripture because over the past few years, I have come to understand the power of love, developed through my consistent relationship with God. And what makes this relationship so rewarding is the experience of growing in His divine light. Having such an experience has taught me to willfully surrender everything to God, and rest completely in my faith. Doing so, has allowed His true presence to resurrect in my life... I guarantee you His power can do the same for you.

However, I must point out, through out the scriptures God commandment -Love thy neighbor as thy self. Moreover, throughout the scriptures, we are told to love one another, as God so loves us. Yet, it seems the meaning behind these scriptures has been replaced with carnal veil hatred. But establishing a personal relationship with God helped me become the essence of His light. Willfully, I surrendered everything to God. And in order to rest completely in my belief, it was important for me to allow the presence of God to take total control of my life.

Today is seems, much of society has submitted to the power of evil. So much, it has begun to infect our entire planet and social behavior. But is it foolish to wonder why people have forgotten the great power of God? I guess through all of life’s rhetoric, we never really gain the entire essence of God because we feel He doesn't really love us. But God is merciful and forgiving. His only request is that we not allow ourselves to become consumed by the tangible things of this earth. Not to mention, He desires that we place our complete faith and trust in Him. By doing so, He in return adds all good things onto us.
