We didn’t know about the diagnosis ADHD at that time. The medicine worked well enough for us to get about six or seven hours sleep most nights until Brandi developed chronic bronchitis and asthma. Her first five years were spent in either the doctor’s office or the local hospital. Shortly after her fifth birthday, she became so ill that doctors were concerned she wouldn’t celebrate her sixth birthday. God had answered every prayer up to that point in our lives, I was certain He would answer one more time.
