My Long Journey Home

But one day while reading the Bible, I discovered a message found in Matthew 13:34; describing a parable spoken by Jesus Christ: “… I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.” To the common eye this quote would seem like an open ended statement that has no significant meaning at all. But to one who is spiritual inclined and driven in search of inner peace, these words are self explanatory. Yet throughout the Bible, much of what is written is written in parables. And for much of our generation most of today’s readers only possess an eighth grade reading level. So just imagine the reading level of our ancestors when the Bible was originally written.

In a world geared towards becoming educationally superior, most of our society will never attain the level of understanding required to read the parables written in the scriptures. Sadly enough, many Bible publishers today are aware of mans ignorance and willfully pray on mans ignorance in an effort to continue the traditions laid down by scholars, generations long ago.

Nevertheless, as my research continued, I found most of what Apostle Paul had written was written with significant purpose, and unfortunately, for those who have been forced into mental and emotional spiritual bondage, the ideal of being freed by the grace of “a god” seems farfetched and no longer a priority that deems necessary to be acquired. Contrary to many religious beliefs and practices, it is extremely important for one to acquire the spiritual freedom hidden within the Bible. More so today than it ever has been. Apostle Paul was not writing messages of grandeur just to give us a book of poems and excerpts that were meant to be shared and reviewed by scholars’, who would later debate on what is fact or fiction. He wrote these messages to forewarn us of what was to come and what was to be. And just as it was written in a time long ago, so it has come to pass.
