Indeed, without these essential freedoms of thought and speech, this elaborate and complex experiment we're participating in would hardly be worth the effort. Integration occurs when (both in and out of time perceptions and behaviors (for example, waking, trance and dreams) are organized and processed. Through these mind channels, then, we come to decipher whether or not a concept is viable. EEG theories establish a format for comprehending the phenomenon of hypnosis (and other alternate brainwave states). They explain how “ordinary” individuals can have extraordinary perceptions and experiences. However, science may never be able to explain certain EEG phenomenon such as the Kuan Yin channelings. The existential question; “Who am I?” automatically leads to two more questions: 1. What defines human awareness (consciousness)? 2. What psychological, physiological and spiritual processes are involved in the evolution of human consciousness? When asked about the relevance of the five brainwave ranges to human consciousness, trance channel Lena Lees’ translation of Kuan Yin's response may have explained it best:

“Kuan Yin is showing me the layers of density on our planet. They are like the layers (of energy, karma) coating our bodies. The various brainwaves help us to go beyond, under the layers of karma. Kuan Yin is showing me radio waves and microwaves. There are all kinds of waves, all of the time. The human brain can access certain waves at certain times. These brainwaves (protective elements) help our human bodies function and survive on this earth plane. I'm reminded of the theory of a ‘skin-encapsulated’ ego,” translates Ms. Lees.

“Gravity holds our physical bodies in place. Our skin holds the spirit in place. Heavy layers of energy, karma around the earth and the body, weigh us down. Every layer is different. The brain waves represent the different layers of consciousness. I'm seeing each brainwave as a sort of gelatinous substance; layer upon layer; much like the onion skin metaphor,” depicts Lena. “Accessing a certain layer accesses certain abilities…they all work together perfectly. When an individual ‘hits’ a certain layer, he or she can work (heal) certain issues. All the brainwave periodicities work well together on the earth plain for the purpose of survival. Instinct ‘kicks in’ when one's survival is at stake. In the alternative brainwave periodicities (and the chakras), many issues and sometimes even physical ailments can be healed.”
