A few months ago, I wrote an article entitled, “Hold On To Your Vision.” At the time this article was written, I felt hopeless and very lonely in my pursuit of my vision and my passion. I was so excited to accomplish my goals and to be instrumental in blessing the lives of others only to discover that I would have many adversaries and many obstacles to overcome. I had not thought that far ahead. I forgot that God said, “To whom much is given, much is required.”
Just when I thought that all hope was lost, God blessed me in a tremendous way. Sometimes just when you’re about to give up and you’ve absolutely had enough, God steps in rather unexpectedly. I went on the Grace Emmaus Community Walk at South Mountain, which was a seventy-two hour spiritual retreat for women. We were asked to not bring watches or cell phones. I thought to myself, forget that! Anyway, I obeyed. There is a blessing in obedience. I found out that time didn’t matter and that the watch and cell phone were distractions. To my surprise, I met so many women who were just like me broken and hurting inside and out. I had no idea that the whole ordeal was a divine setup by God. This retreat saved my life and divinely connected me to other women who believed in my vision and stood with me in prayer to see it through. I am not the same woman that wrote Part 1 to this story. I am much stronger and much wiser. I learned on this retreat that God’s grace is sufficient. Have you ever heard the word Prevenient Grace? I hadn’t either. This is the grace that God established for you before you were even born. It’s the grace that has covered you in your sins, mess ups, mistakes, and regrets. God loves you so much that He holds you up with grace even at your worst and lowest points in life. There’s nothing so bad that you’ve done that grace will not be sufficient for you.
