Is There a Message Within this Dream?

By: Denise S. (View Profile)

After my father passed away in 2004 I have been having the same dream quite often where I see my dad walking up the walkway into the house and I’m walking behind him telling him he died and his response was that he was not dead and the one thing I keep hearing him say is “It was all a mistake,” When I first told my mom about this she thought that maybe it was my way of saying good bye, like bringing him back in my dream, this time preparing myself for his departure. Later on that evening my sister in Arizona called my mom after she woke up from her nap before going to work freaked out that she had a dream about dad and he told her that he didn’t die, “It was all a misunderstanding.” My other three sisters or my three brothers say they haven’t had a dream about dad since he passed. I have dreams about him a lot although I wasn’t really that close to him and every time I see him I remind him that he has passed and his response is always the same.

I'm not that religious, but I do believe that death of our mortal confine is the beginning of a new life, just in another realm of existence. It maybe that your Dad is trying to relate that to you.

Since your dream has come to you more than once, and since your sister also had the same message in a dream, you need to pay attention to the message! My experience has been to Pray for people who have died and who seem to not be a peace with the death. You know they have physically left this world, but there is some opposition. Pray for the repose of their soul and pray that the Lord grant them peace with HIS decision to take them home. I think you are right in reminding your father that he has died. If you keep doing that, he may eventually accept it. If you believe in "The communion of Saints", as most Christians do, you should feel good about communicating with any saint, including your Father. The communion of saints is all those who have died and gone to heaven, those who have be cannonized as saints, those who may be in a state of purification awaiting heaven, and those of us who are striving to enter the Kingdom. Remind him about the Kingdom and Eternal Life!
