Bubbles

By: Sweetheart (View Profile)

Here I was a single mom taking a Calgon moment to get away and regroup. I sat in my whirlpool bathtub aware that the bubbles were rising around me. I couldn't help but notice that each time one bubble materialized it was affixed to a pre-existing bubble. Each bubble then had the opportunity to “rise-up.” How high would the bubble go, would it pop, would it detach itself, would it move about in a circle of change, was it isolated amongst the flow? Suddenly I began to realize that my problems were simple bubbles, that as soon as one would pop up another would disappear. That the continuum of concerns would always simply be traded for new ones. What was important was my perception of each bubble and the weighted, attention with which I approached its individual significance … for there will always be another.
