Dreaming of My Dead Son

By: Robin Harrison (View Profile)

I have had two dreams about my son Matthew since he passed away at age fifteen suddenly in July of 2007.

The first dream I had was as follows:

I dreamed I was sitting in my living room on the couch and the TV was off. I saw my son’s reflection in the TV and turned to look at him but I could not see him.

The second dream is as follows:

I dreamed I was in bed and my son sat next to me on the bed and said to me “Mom I know you miss me. And miss all the little things I used to help you with. Don’t be sad, just ask Brandon (my nephew) to help you.” Then he showed me a vision of Brandon and I. And I was not sad. Brandon was doing those little things my son used to do for me. And we were happy.

So what do you make of it?

It seems that your son wants to make you aware that he is alive and well in heaven and that he still loves you. I think he suggested you do things with your nephew because he knows you need companionship and help.

My son also died unexpectedly at age 15. Over the past 3 years I have had progressive dreams about him. At first I would see him at a distance and he would wave or give me a thumbs up. Now I can talk to him and even hug him in my dreams. I think the more peace I feel regarding his death, the easier it is for him to come to me. You are blessed with your son's spirit still in your life.

I think your dreams are a sign that your son is present in your life even if he's not there in body!
