Staying True in Thailand

By: Emilie Rohrbach (View Profile)

In the next two weeks, I learned how to make Thai curries, maneuver a motorbike, and give a Thai massage. I rode an elephant, guided a bamboo raft down a river, and kickboxed in a Thai gym. I went north to Chang Mai and south to Koh Samui and Koh Pangan. I chose to avoid the full moon party, but not the Spanish man I met at a bar.

I got back on the plane having little regret, knowing that I had honored one very important resolution, “be true to myself.”

Emilie I think you made the right choice leaving the center. It is so much more important to be true to yourself than to try to meet goals that are not really yours. 3 days is still pretty impressive and look at everything else you managed to accomplish after you left. You have really inspired me to consider taking time out to evaluate whether I am staying true to me and next year my resolution list will be taped to my bathroom mirror!
It feels good to write.
