To access these regions, it’s best to fly in and out of Queenstown. Remember to wear layers on the airplane – Air New Zealand lost my bag for four days and I was stuck in 40 degree weather wearing the bikini, shorts and t-shirt I had on when I flew out of Sydney (call me a dumb blonde, I know). It was only a small downside to the best trip I’ve ever taken.
