Several years ago, my husband and I visited his sister in Paris. We took the train to Belgium for the day and I became enchanted by Brussels. We actually ate waffles, had the best chocolate I’ve ever eaten, and drank Belgian beer in a tavern that was many centuries old. I found the place to be warm and friendly and the city square to be colorful and alive with activity. There was a warmth and charm I’ll never forget. I wish we had had more time to spend there, but I’m happy I was able to see it, even if it was just for a day.
When traveling abroad, I was reminded there are many different things to see, but people remain pretty much the same no matter where you go. Everyone has a story to tell and a life to be lived and it’s nice when you can become a part of something different outside your own life. I found the people of Brussels to be wonderful people and my visit there is something I’ll never forget.
