Holy Cow! Amanda really GETS Jehr. This is a beautiful, thoughtful & true piece that I hope someone snatches up & prints in the NY Times. Jehr has been cutting my hair for 20 years in NYC & SF. He has always fit my hair right into my current life, whether it's been down my back or 1/2 an inch long. Everytime, I leave Jehr feeling pretty, unique, super-cool & still very much me. Thanks to Amanda for putting my experience into words.

Thanks for sharing this article. Finally someone has written what many of us have been feeling for years. One great haircut custom to your hair type is worth it's weight in gold! I've enjoyed every hair cut I've ever received from Jehr and I too remember my first haircut from him which was a life changing experience for me. I am really looking forward to my afternoon today which includes another appointment with Jehr.....I know I will be walking away with another look that cannot be created elsewhere!

It seems over the years the more I spent money on my hair, the more it misbehaved.There was an endless trail of seeking the right salon or the next wonder product. I carried an article from the N.Y. Times for 5 years in my walllet thinking "I've got to find this guy." The planets finally aligned and I called the number and went a bit out of my way for a new approach. That was 3 years ago. Meeting Jehr sanpped me out of the modern, soulless empty hair chase for perfection. He showed me how the simplest techniques produce the best results. Not only does he find the inner beauty of your hair its unique pattern , he stops the madness. No more fighting my hair and dumping wonder chemicals on it. The more I did that , the more lifeless my hair became. Thank goodness that good sense and high style can come from simplicity. Jehr, thank you. You changed a big part of my beauty life into something I enjoy instead of something from which I suffer daily. Jehr is well worth his price.

So now I can't stand to go for a mere hair cut, I need a "Jehr" cut! My hair has been a little (ok a lot) drab for months and months now and I'm itching for someone to actually stop and look at me and tell me what would best suit me. I feel like I'm always fighting against my hair not finding how to work with it. I'm scared, but I've made an appointment for a Jehr cut! What if he chops off all my hair? so be it...can't wait to see what he makes of me!
