Do You Love Your Hair?

I feel the same was as your friend - it's not so much the stylists, it's just me and my love/hate relationship with my straight, fine hair. I want it to be pretty, yet "edgy," but no matter who cuts it, it always ends up looking exactly. The. Same. Every. Single. Time. I've learned that bangs are bad on me and that longer is better. Right now I'm semi-banged and shorter than I want, so today's a bad day to ask. Ask me in February.

When I was a kid, I had so much hair that no one knew what to do with it. Hairdressers would call their co-workers over while I sat in their chair and say, "Feel this," and they'd all grab hold of my hair as if it were some phenomenon. Since no one knew what to do with it, they eventually chopped it off (well, my great aunt did when i went to visit her one summer, pissed off my mom, and that's a whole 'nother story.) Then I was mistaken for a boy once it was short. And boy, did I hate that. So then I grew it back. Then my girlfriends in high school coined me "Lampshade." I then hated that. Suffice to say, when I think about what I like regarding my hair, I'm lucky to have it. There is a lot of it and it can be naturally curly or straight. Today, I happen to hate it, because it needs a cut.
