Beauty I Dos and I Don’ts

Don’t settle! This is your day and a lot of money is being spent to make this a once in a lifetime experience.

Don’t get lazy. Check references and keep your appointments.

Do ask other vendors for referrals of other vendors the recommend.

Do take charge in a polite and calm way. Make a plan and stick to it.

Do take a few minutes each week as you progress to sit alone and think about the day. Picture it … go through the steps to make sure you have not forgotten anything.

Do surf the net and come to places like theknot.com to see what other brides have to say. This can save you a lot of time and money.

Last but certainly not least, Do enjoy yourself. The day will go fast so make sure to schedule a few intervals where just you and your groom can take a few minutes alone. These are the moments you will remember as they will not be rushed.

So, with your new makeup artist at your side you will now look on the outside, the way you will feel on the inside, beautiful.

Thanks for spreading the MUA gospel to brides, Jiladair. I abso cringe when I see photos from real brides in badly applied make up, or worse, not enough make up, to make their features pop in the camera. Most do not understand that you don't wear the same face to date night as you do in front of the Flash. And I agree--this should not be a last-minute plan. I tell all the brides who contact me at herecomestheguide.com that hair and make-up are part of the overall wedding fashion picture. Besides, what gal doesn't love a make-over?

Great article. I am an Independent Mary Kay Beauty Consultant and personally know Ms. Carlson. She is a fabulous make-up artist and I have worked with her in the past. You will love what she can do for you!
