At fifteen, I thought I was the height of sophistication going to the local disco drowned in my mother’s Dune by Christian Dior. I remember my friends reeking of Anais Anais, Musk from the Body Shop, or Poison. I can’t imagine any of us would be caught dead in these fragrances today. Still, your first fragrance stays with you, in the same way your first kiss or first love does. What did you adore as a teenager? Do you still like it now?

My first fragrance was Windsong by Matachabelli (spelling may be wrong). This was popular back in the late 1950's when I was in high school. It still has specia memories for me and each time I see it on a fragrance counter which is seldom, I spray a little on me for old times sake.l

My first was Cool Water for women. I actually still have half the bottle left-I should probably throw that out!
Like Sophie, I also had Vanilla Fields...it was popular with all my friends!

I don't remember the company .. but I loved Hawaiian White Ginger as a girl. Any time someone went to Hawaii I would beg them to bring some home to me. I never have found a fragrance I liked as much.

I received Chanel No 5 every xmas for several years as a child from my father. I take a whiff every time I pass the fragrance counter in a dept store. Can't say that I really like it, yet it is ' homey.'
