My Life as a Secretary

But society will never lose its need for assistants to help the people in charge maintain the illusion that everything is under control. The more familiar term is “administrative assistant, ” but I don’t mind that I spent all those years as a “secretary.” As a legal secretary, I had more time with my children than the lawyers I worked for.

I was able to educate my children, and they won't have to work as a secretary. But for me, at the time, being a secretary turned out to be a job with a future.
