In order for things to change, who must change?
As in life, it has also been observed that the most constant thing in the real estate industry is change. As the Bay Area real estate market eases off agents are quick to stress the market is still strong in historic terms, but most of them also agree on the one major change, opportunity. The unit numbers of sales transactions to be had are down as much as fifty percent over last year in most neighborhoods.
This change will be a driving force for new business models in the industry. As new business models merge for companies, the act of confronting a changing market for individual agents will be the most significance change you will see along with commissions charged by a sales people. Commissions should never be the sole reason to select your agent. When providing advice or guidance to clients, agents significantly impact real estate decisions by principles and it is my belief that the counsel should only be rendered by those who are recognized in the market place by having consistently demonstrated the highest level of knowledge, experience, competency and judgment.
As much as it is a known fact, real estate fees are negotiable by law, if agent can't negotiate their own commission or self worth, how can the insulate your bottom line and negotiate the sale of your home?
I personally love change and see it as enlightening enhancing and empowering for the industry, specifically for the consumer. How come? Because as agents serve a competitive market and a sophisticated consumer, they mush enhance their skill level to be competitive. They must change and the change must be constantly driven by services rendered solely without personal bias or conflict of interest. If an agent comes from scarcity they rarely have the ability to implement appropriate strategies and give customers what they want.
I love what I do! I also understand the organizing principles to give customers what they want comes from good businesses decisions as your partner for success with each client individually. Success comes from one source only: the quality of the work you do and if you want a reputation that lasts a lifetime, you have earn it. You, we and us should appreciate the opportunity to earn business in a changing market
