5 Best Cities for Women

I can see why San Francisco would be a great place for women based on the economy. But money isn't everything if you are single, dating, and happen to come across one of the down low men who haven't made up their minds. San Francisco is know for its large homosexual population. I disagree that San Francisco is good place to live for women, especially single women. I have lived in San Francisco and now I live south of the city. First of all, the men situation is horrible. In the city, most of the men are homosexual. Some men who are not homosexual do not want to work and they think they can find a woman to take care of them, since they think women are "desperate." South of the city is the Silicon Valley and the men work, but they are cheap, not giving financially or emotionally and have absolutely no social skills. The rents are extremely high and continue to grow higher all the time. There is a recession going on and I was laid off from my job in February, and although I have years of experience, I am finding it difficult to find work. It is nearly impossible to buy real estate, as the average price of a home is $1 million. The homes are old, drafty and the weather is cold. The homeless situation in SF is very bad and SF attracts a lot of "weirdoes.

Great article. San Francisco seems to always come out No 1. I was there a few days ago. I guess I am lucky because I'm a short train ride away. Now I need the best cities for retired females (baby boomers). I believe Shreveport, Louisianna, was one. A city in Florida is there somewhere.
