Yesterday, I took a brave step in making my HeartMommy business grow.
Several weeks ago, I met Rosalind, a local boutique owner while out window shopping with my family. Her shop is amazing and she features local artisans and small companies who create items for mom and baby. As we strolled, I asked her how she chooses her items. She said that she goes on a feeling and only buys/sells things that she would buy herself.
Being new at the business side of business, I am a bit shy when sharing what I have to offer. But, I took a big gulp and said that I was opening my HeartMommy business and I showed her my necklace. She immediately said, yes, okay, I will carry your line.
I was not prepared for this at all. I must have looked ridiculous, standing and staring with my mouth agape. Then I said, “That’s it.” Rosalind smiled and said, “That’s it.”
Keep in mind my four new designs were being cast at the jewelers, and I had only two of my original pieces left. Quick as a flash I went over to my jeweler and told her that I needed my samples as soon as possible.
Yesterday, May 7, 2008, I went and met with Rosalind. She purchased four pieces to be displayed in her shop for orders and wants a HeartMommy display to showcase my other pieces and the new line of baby clothes!
Amazing and wonderful things happen when you step out of your comfort zone, ask for what you want and get brave!
I am pleased.
