The Blues

By: Leo Shelton (View Profile)

No more blues for me
My black’s got a whole new hue
Something to live for
Someone to do
Cause my black is black
But it ain’t so blue

Black opals a’ shining
Blinding my view
As valuable as a diamond
As seductive as you

My funeral march is over
The fat lady is due
But don’t lay my flowers down just yet
Cause my journey ain’t quite thru

I’m gathering up my drag
To party with the crew
Cause love has finally touched my soul
And he’s black as my blackest days
But this is finally goodbye for me
To anything remotely blue.
