Falling Off the Pedestal

By: Susan Wade (View Profile)

The time has come

To be undone

To unravel the tapestry

Of a life well won

To start anew

In colors of bleu

And see again

With eyes renewed

Spirit bold

I will break the mold

And no longer hide

What’s real inside

My fall from grace

Is at my own pace

I face the wrath

Of those in my path

Knowing once more

The call of the shore

I go there now

And this I vow

To listen to self

Above all else

Journeywoman
