Candle-Lit Nights

By: Rowland Devon (View Profile)

I’m sitting in my room on a beautiful night
Listening to sweet melodies under the candle light
Mellow in my own world, my hand begins to write
This makes me think about the beauty in my life
About the very essence of the one I made my wife

My love for her has grown so very much
The sight of her makes me queasy, I’m tantalized by her touch
From the beginning this felt like more than a crush
Every time I’m near her my heart starts pounding, blood begins to rush

She makes me feel like I can perform any task, anything at all
My heart is with her, deeper and deeper in love with her I fall
She never puts me down or make me feel small
She looks me in my eyes and tells me I’m tall

I’ve never loved another soul the way I love my baby
To me she’s more than a mere lovely lady
She is the love of my life, my Queen
This is my Kingdom and I am the King

I treat my love like a precious gem
Like the heart of my rose, with the longest stem
My diamond with perfections and maybe a few flaws
Priceless in my eyes value you see from a far

She’ll be the mother of my children
The backbone to my building
She keeps my heart sealed away tucked out of sight
These things I feel have been written under the candle light
Sitting in my room embellished in harmony
What a beautiful night.
