A Peek into the Inspiring Mind of Glenda Watson Hyatt

Q: You recently started a blog to help promote your self-published book. And you have already received some interviews from prominent bloggers in a relatively short period of time. What are some of the things you have done to open up these doors of opportunity for yourself? And how is your blog helping you with your overall marketing and promotional efforts?
A:
It comes down to building relationships with these bloggers; first, by reading and commenting on their blogs, and getting to know them through emails, podcasts, and such. The interview with Andy Wibbels (the one that connected you and I) was rather impromptu. He had emailed me a question about his teleseminar the previous night and, in my response back to him, I asked if he would like to host my appearance for the next day! He responded immediately with the interview questions. It was that easy! But, I would not have dared asking Andy had we not had that established relationship; that is so key.

At the moment, I’m focusing on my blog and virtual book tour to promote my autobiography I’ll Do It Myself. It is enabling me to get the word out about my book in a medium in which I’m most comfortable: the written word. And I’m beginning to see other promotional opportunities arise, which I will pursue once this virtual book tour is completed. Just yesterday I received an email inviting me to speak about my blogging experience at conference in Montreal—all expenses paid! I still need to make sure this invitation is legitimate and such, but that is the amazing thing about blogging—you never know where it may lead you!

Glenda’s book I’ll Do it Myself can be purchased online at her website. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a little inspiration and a lot of smiles.
