And Still....

If history and literature and human examples are frauds, if the media cannot be trusted, if our high-profile role models prove to be imperfect humans like the rest of us, how do we truly learn that greatest, most important lesson in life? How do we throw down our guard and our cynicism and open up to the person seated next to us? How do we fight the urge to judge and embrace the discomfort of caring for someone other than ourselves? And how do we forge into the future, torch burning brightly for our children and their children to follow? Is it easier to give into the morass we’ve always regarded as “normal?” Perhaps.

But still....

We judge people because we are human and NOT God.........We want people to be just like us........to act and say and do just like we ourselves would do. We must understand, and ACCEPT that we are all unique. This is what makes us each so very special. I have learned this in a very hard way with my friend........Today I welcome the daily challenges that our different personalities bring, and because of this I value and appreciate her that much more.........When you loose (or are close to loosing) someone so very close and special in your life, you will simply overlook the differences and value them as they are........One of God's special gifts.

What you wrote, that is to say, the message you threaded throughout this peice has left me (the reader) wanting to stand and raise my hands in the air while I look up to heaven and shout, "Amen to that!" This is an astounding piece of writing, and had these very words been delivered by some modern day big-shot icon, my guess is, it would have been deliberately shared by the existing myriad of media portals allowing the talking heads to put their hand to their chins and scratch their heads inviting the nation to ponder your words. I'll bet President Bush would invite you to the White House for dinner. But, back to reality, and on the other hand, man am I lucky to have read this because it re-adjusted my inner pendulum. Thank you, and though I do not claim to know you, TH, I am extending an invitation to take you out for coffee at Starbucks, some day.
