Did You Know?

I attended my daughter’s Back to School Night and our principal showed this video, informing the gymnasium full of eager parents that all the teachers in the school district had seen this piece. I found it to be incredibly powerful and worth the few minutes it took to see it. It definitely popped us all out of our workday just prior to meeting our kids’ new teachers and hearing about lesson plans.

Extremely thought provoking about the world our children and we live and will live in, the video provides incredible statistics, remarkable realities, and actionable questions to help us all as our world changes at a pace never predicted.

Wow. When I was in 8th grade, lo these many years ago, we thought the big thing was the day we got to type on one of the two IBM Selectric typewriters in class - all the other machines were MANUAL! (I know, *faint*.)

I'm 33 years young and recall being introduced to Yahoo! at the Journalism School at Indiana. I don't think I knew anyone with a cell phone then. I recall taking typing in high school and passing notes. It's amazing to grasp how much things have changed in such a short time, and how much they will potentially exponentially change.
